The Fire Center meets in Boise this week with the other members of the new decision support-science partnership: the RMRS's LANDFIRE, Fire, Fuels, and Smoke Program, Research Development and Application unit and the Univ. of Idaho FRAMES Alistair Smith, professor at the College of Natural Resources, University of Idaho, and several graduate students visited the Fire Center last week The NCLFA will offer the prescribed fire practicum again in January, 2009. This year, the NCLFA will set up research on duff consumption. Practicum students will be able to assist with the research. Read More >>

The Montana Wildland Fire Base Map project, developed by the National Center for Landscape Fire Analysis (NCLFA), allows the GIS Specialist to generate a base map in minutes, freeing them to focus on the creation, display, and analysis of incident data.
